Liverpool Independent Domestic Violence Advisory Service

The Liverpool IDVA service support victims/survivors of domestic abuse who are risk assessed as high risk of harm.

We will work in partnership with other agencies to ensure a multi-agency response to meet the needs of the victim/survivor with the aim of increasing safety utilising a co-ordinated multi- agency response including;

  • Safety Planning
  • Crisis intervention 
  • Home Security applications
  • Practical and emotional support
  • Court support
  • Advocacy
  • Practical and emotional support
  • Representation at the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC). A MARAC is a meeting where information is shared on the highest risk domestic abuse cases between representatives of local police, health, child protection, housing practitioners, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs), probation and other specialists from the statutory and voluntary sector.

We offer independent domestic abuse support to 16-24 year old male/female victims of abuse who at high risk.
Some of the things you will be helped with are;

  • Risk management and safety planning
  • Giving you options and explaining what you can do
  • Referrals to and linking in with other agencies
  • Support to address any other issues eg substance abuse
  • Support through the criminal justice system
  • Representation at MARAC
